Full-time Office Manager - $20-22/hr. plus benefits

Peace Church’s position of Church Office Manager is for a candidate with above average general office skills and who feels called to provide grace-filled service within a Christian work setting and who is willing to go above and beyond the personal investment in a job that is considered “normal” in a typical business setting. Our Office Manager position requires strong attention to detail and organization and the ability to communicate well. The person who fills this position will be our front line of incoming church communications.

This position requires strong computer skills (Microsoft Office 365, etc.), the ability to learn and use specialized church financial software, church database software, and website maintenance. This position will require the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcomes visitors, addresses questions, and assists them with any problems.

  • Creates, updates, and helps distribute church publications such as: newsletter, directory, mailings, etc. Assists in writing, editing, and printing church bulletins.

  • Maintains all church records, such as information regarding baptisms, marriages, membership.

  • Arranges details for weddings, funerals, baptisms, and any other events that require the use of the church.

  • Resources committees to assist them in having the information necessary to do their ministries.

  • Assists in recruiting and coordinating volunteers.

  • Maintains the church master calendar.

  • Assists church treasurer in payroll information, distributing checks, and maintaining office financial records.

  • Oversees vendor accounts, contracts and renewals, insurance, copyright licenses, tax exempt records.

  • Serves as recording secretary, entering all offerings/donations in financial software, and providing statements and reports.

  • Responsible for all clerical duties.

  • Orders office supplies when necessary.

  • Keeps office clean and orderly.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates the ability to clearly and effectively communicate information to parishioners and visitors.

  • Demonstrates patience and understanding when dealing with confused, grieving, or difficult visitors to the office – providing ministry at all times.

  • Possesses strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, ability to learn financial computer software, and church database software.

  • Able to maintain the church website and assist with social media accounts.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of high school diploma required.

  • Basic office work experience required.

Starting salary dependent upon experience. Benefit package included.
