Annual Bazaar -  The Women At Peace held their Annual Bazaar on Saturday, November 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. We urged everyone to contribute something, if possible–craft items, baked goods (breads and pies are always popular items), homemade snacks or cash. The popular Granny’s Attic included things such as old jewelry, dishes, books, toys, games, craft materials, plants, etc. The Bazaar also included a café with sandwiches, desserts, and beverages.

13th Annual Peace Church Pignic
- First Sunday of August
Area residents were invited to attend Peace United Church of Christ’s 13th Annual PIGNIC pig roast and chicken dinner on Sunday, August 7, 2010 at Kewaskum Kiwanis Park. The event began at 8:30 a.m. with welcome time and social fellowship. A 9:30 a.m. community worship service, led by Rev. J. Eric Kirkegaard, followed in the park pavilion. Special music was offered by children who attended Vacation Bible School. Pre-worship music was provided by Cheri Hron, Betty Graff and Dr. Greg Ogi.

The Kewaskum Big Band performed a live concert of all new show tunes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Under the direction of Howard Schneider, the band offered music from some of our favorite dance bands of the swing era.

The dinner, complete with potato salad, fruit salad, vegetable, and beverage, was served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Carry outs were available and tickets were sold on the day of the event. Dinner tickets were $8 for adults, $5 for children 4-10 years old, and free for children under 4 years old. Advanced tickets are always recommended and are available from the church office at 262-626-4011. A dessert booth serves delicious, home-made specialties.

An inflatable bounce house was offered free of charge for the children. Kids could also create stepping-stones, or join in the games of Soccer Kick, Tic-Tac-Toss, Big Foot Race & other favorite games.  Other entertainment surprises were be offered throughout the day. (In case of rain, the PIGNIC will be held in the Kewaskum Middle School.)

Every member of the family will find something of interest in over 50 bucket raffles, featuring sports, dining, jewelry, home and garden, music, pet care, entertainment packages, etc. Gift cards from local businesses are also included. Chances are $1 each or 25 for $20.

A favorite raffle this year was a sturdily hand-crafted and beautifully hand-painted tugboat playhouse. Tickets for this item were $5 each or 5 for $20 and are available at Peace Church, Gateway Café, Ogi Vet Clinic or Van Ess Dental office. Playhouse delivery to the winner was also included within 30 miles of Kewaskum. You did not have to be present to win.

Each year we are given many different opportunities to share in God’s ministry with our hands and hearts. For many of us working with Habitat is one of the highlights of our year. It always feels so good to live our faith, to help someone, to accomplish something lasting and meaningful, and to share in great fellowship, worship, and study with some really terrific people.
